Cookies and browser storage
Last updated October 4, 2026
PacketKit uses no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts. This page lists everything PacketKit stores in your browser and why. Because all of it is needed for the site to work, there is nothing to opt out of; you can erase it any time.
Cookies
- __Host-cfs (strictly necessary): keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days. It holds a signed session, not your case information.
- __Host-cfo (strictly necessary): set for up to 10 minutes while you sign in with Google, to protect the sign-in from tampering. It's removed when sign-in finishes.
- Our host, Cloudflare, can set a strictly necessary security cookie if its abuse protection is triggered. PacketKit doesn't read it.
- If you choose to contribute, Stripe's checkout page (checkout.stripe.com) is a separate site and sets its own cookies under the Stripe Cookie Policy. PacketKit's pages don't load any Stripe code.
Browser storage (not cookies)
Your cases are kept in your browser's own storage on this device. It's never sent to PacketKit or anyone else.
- IndexedDB ("casefill"): blank and filled PDFs you open or save, and documents and exhibits.
- Local storage: your cases and their details (cf.matters), saved field layouts (cf.tpl.*), your firm's details if you're a legal professional (cf.profile), saved attorneys, firms and clients for autofill (cf.saved), the password lock settings (cf.vault, cf.keys), and small preferences: guided or full view (cf.mode), tips on or off (cf.tips), who's using PacketKit (cf.role), language (cf.lang), the last tab and document strip settings (cf.tab, cf.strip, cf.stripShow), view settings above the form and on My cases: the Help & info panel, Q&A view, field colors and the Forms & logs library (cf.help, cf.qa, cf.fcol, cf.dlib), checklist progress in the Self-Help Center (cf.helpck.*), the account that last used this browser (cf.owner), and the date you confirmed you're 18 or older and accepted the notice (cf.ack, cf.age18), and which version of the Terms of Service you accepted on this browser and when (cf.tos).
- Session storage: a link you were following when asked to sign in (cf.nexthash), removed right after.
How to erase it
- In PacketKit: My cases → Erase all data, or About & privacy → Delete all PacketKit data in this browser.
- From the account menu: Sign out and erase case data on this device (best on a shared computer).
- Or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Erasing can't be undone. Save a backup first if you want to keep your cases.
Changes
If PacketKit ever adds a cookie that isn't strictly necessary, this page will be updated first and you'll be asked before it's set.
